MEET OUR INSTRUCTOR
José Quevedo is a bilingual (Spanish–English) Chemical Engineer with over 30 years of experience in the refining business. Throughout his career, he has held leading technical and operational positions such as Process Engineer, Operations Engineer, and Planning & Economics Engineer. He has also worked in the execution of engineering activities for both new-build (grass-root) and revamp refining projects in Venezuela, Mexico, and the United States.
Over the last five years, José has been actively involved in developing and delivering training programs for refinery operators and engineers. His work includes preparing Competency Maps, creating performance assessments, conducting online coaching sessions for refinery operators, and developing eLearning courses for Process Engineers. Earlier in his career, José taught General Chemistry I at the University of Carabobo in Venezuela and served as a Teacher Assistant during his time as a Chemical Engineering student.
With extensive experience in engineering, business, and marketing environments, Jose has developed a strong command of industrial and professional terminology. His background in office work and international events has equipped him with a clear understanding of the communication skills needed (in both English and Spanish) to interact successfully with clients, suppliers, and colleagues.
